These days’ men and women alike are seeking to improve their complexion and enhance the appearance of their skin. There are a number of different ways that people are using to do this; everything from facial anti aging products, diet modifications, home remedies and even plastic surgery. What you choose to do will depend in part on your budget and in part on how much “work” your skin needs.

Let’s assume you’re operating on a more modest budget, and examine the more inexpensive and do-it-yourself facial skincare solutions.

There are many popular books available describing various recipes that you can make yourself using various natural ingredients. These recipes include a variety of organic fruits, vegetables, nuts and extracts that combine different minerals and nutrients to help keep your skin healthy and youthful inside and out. They can also be made for as little as $3 or $4. To make one of these homemade skin potions yourself try to include ingredients like honey which is full of antioxidants (include it in your diet as well!), finely ground raw almonds which both help exfoliate the skin and provide vitamins E and A as well as copper and iron – all great for the skin. Coconut oil is also rich in vitamins and minerals essential to a healthy complexion. Try including rosemary which is known for its ability to clean the skin and constrict the pores; as well as freshly ground ginger, a powerful anti-inflammatory. Mix and match these and let them sit for a few hours or even overnight to allow the ingredients to release their beneficial nutrients so they can be better absorbed. Apply your homemade lotion 3-5 times a week or even once a day and allow at least 20 minutes for your skin to absorb it. Of course there are many more ingredients that can be included… too many to name here, but you can find plenty without too much research.

Eating these ingredients is another good way get these nutrients and minerals. Be sure to incorporate foods such as fresh water fish like salmon and olive oil which are rich in skin loving omega 3 fatty acids.
And of course be sure to apply sun screen every day, even when it’s cloudy to protect it from skin-aging UV rays. While on the topic of creams and lotions, many over-the-counter anti-aging creams can be helpful in reducing the appearance of wrinkles and other signs of aging.

Useful tips on anti-aging! I like that you have provided info on taking care of the skin on the outside; as well as, covering foods that can be eaten that will contribute to overall healthy skin.
